67 Minutes of Kindness

Today is Nelson Mandela day….Many people know about the day, but not many people understand the concept. I know it says 67 minutes of kindness or charity. However I believe it should be 67 acts of kindness on the day.
For most, charity involves giving something that you don’t really have enough off as well. This can be money, food or time. However we forget that acts of charity, or in this case, the acts of kindness that do not require much. The acts that are almost unintentional and may be seen as irrelevant. Here I’m talking about small simple acts, such as greeting everyone in your office. Or smiling at the individual that seems to be having a bad day. It’s the gifts that one cant be bought that mean the most.
So today, be that little sunshine in someones life. Be a hippie and spread love, and peace. Be the kindness you want to see, and the world will surely follow your example. Know that no matter how bad your situation may be, someone might have it worse. So instead of letting today be a normal Friday, let it be an extraordinary one.
“There is so much in the world for us all if we only have the eyes to see it,, and the heart to love it, and the hand to gather it to ourselves….” – Lucy Maud Montgomery.
